Upstone Wildflowers

This past summer, Upstone Materials became much more colorful due to our biodiversity initiative. Working with AdkAction, we secured a pollinator sign for this lot where over 25 species of Northeastern Wildflowers have flourished. The abundance of trees on site provides coverage and nesting opportunities to a variety of animals, leading to certifying the property as a wildlife habitat via the National Wildlife Federation. These efforts are representative of our growing involvement in environmental and community stewardship!

SUNY Potsdam's Geoscience Garden

Upstone Materials generously donated all of the specimens for SUNY Potsdam’s Geoscience Garden, which were chosen from Upstone’s 12 quarries across Northern New York. In total, there are 49 rocks, totaling 48,000 tons, ranging in age from 1.1 billion years to 2 million years.

Open House

Upstone Materials Regional Office hosted an open house that included drone presentations, man lift rides, bounce house, dino digs, and walking or bus tours. Friends, family and the community members were invited. We also blasted in the quarry for everyone to see.
